"delapaix" supports Elephant Parade
17 June 2010
Asian elephants are at risk in Cambodia from many factors: loss of habitat, lack of safe and pentiful drinking water, disease and tragically injury or death from landmines.
Hotel de la Paix is proud to be the only hotel in Cambodia highlighting the plight of the Asian elephant, by its association with the Elephant Parade London 2010.
Miniatures of the elephants will be on sale in Hotel de la Paix's boutique, in support of this worthwhile venture.
Elephant Parade is a conservation campaign that shines an artistic spotlight on the urgent crisis faced by the endangered Asian elephant. Brought to you by www.elephantfamily.org, the event sees over 250 brightly painted life-size elephants located over central London this summer.
Each elephant is decorated by a different artist or celebrity, and the colourful elephants brighten up the city, enhancing every park, street corner and building they grace. Running from May to July 2010, this is London’s biggest outdoor art event on record. With an estimated audience of 25 million, their aim is to raise £2 million for the Asian elephant and benefit 20 UK conservation charities.
